Introduction:
Inspired by the guide for heroes here, I thought about the reverse way: What if you rolled a 5 Talent and aren't sure where to put it? This post will be updated several times until every talent is finished and optimally to include new heroes as well.
Latest update: 2016/08/31.
Please give feedback below, as this list is thought to be dynamic.
General advise:
Revite, Bulwark and Scatter are currently the talents with highest demand. Unless you rolled a lot of them, you will most probably always have a hero waiting for one of them, so think about good placeholders or alternative talents for them. If you have the resources to level up a talent to 8/8 without falling short on fame, consider Bulwark or Scatter on fitting heroes first in line for it.
Leveling a talent up past 5/8 will be very expensive. Try to get a balance in the talents of your frequently used heroes. It is more helpful to have 7 heroes with fitting 6/8 talents (or two with 7/8 and one with 6/8), than one with 8/8. Also keep in mind, that eventually you are going to double evolve your heroes, which will cost a lot of fame.
Berserk:
This talent is often overshadowed by cooldowns or the speed cap in the game. While in theory it sounds awesome to attack faster, the PD procs make it obsolete in many situations. However it still has its uses.
Here is a link to see, which levels of Berserk are useful cosidering the base attack speed. When you have a 5+/8 Berserk on a hero and think about upgrading it, you have to be careful to watch out for the levels that actually make a difference.
1st pick:Pumpkin Duke benefits the most from it, since he has no cooldown and the faster he attacks, the faster you get those stacks, which is pivotal for later dungeons. It also helps in HBM, where his other good talent Revitalize (which has a lot of other heroes begging for it) pales in comparision.
2nd picks: The most use beside PD would be a Druid, since it is his best talent for dungeons. More procs, more dmg boost is crucial there. The other great option is Phantom King if he doesn't have Scatter. When you get him to 6/8 Berserk he has a Attack Speed of 600 or with 8/8 Berserk and a maxed out Blitz Scroll he goes down to 400, which is awesome.
3rd picks:Pixie is a good choice, as her better talents Bulwark and Wargod will go to somebody else and her attackspeed is awful. Skullknight is fun (you need a 7/8 Berserk to get him down to 400 attackspeed), but isn't likely to get 9000 Fame dumped into a temporary talent for him. It is also a good placeholder for Dead Drake.
other good choices: Offensive heroes with very low attack speed (1500) as Harpyqueen and Beast Tamer. You will need a 7/8 Berserk on them to get down to 1000 attackspeed, which is most likely to expensive to consider (9000 fame). Heroes without a cooldown and low priority on better talents, Orksbane or Grizzly Reaper for example, also make good use of it.
Bladeshell:
BS is more or less useless, because it has either a very low chance to proc at 5/8 or is simply too expensive to level and not worth the cost. On top of that it can't even proc when the hero is silenced. (Can anyone confirm or deny this?)
1st pick:Candy Kane can use it, because she probably won't get the 5/5 Revite which is her best talent. Or you can use BS as a temporary talent for a PvP hero, for example Atlanticore.
other good choices: Put it on a dupe.
Bulwark:
Great temporary talent on lower levels, and one of the most important talents since evolution came out. You can say, that every hero that has Wargod as his top talent, also benifits from Bulwark and vice versa (only exception, Lady Leo). Very important for HBM and HT.
Bulwark vs Wargod: In all game modes beside Dungeons, Bulwark will outshine Wargod. However you probably won't roll that many Bulwarks, so you shouldn't replace a high Wargod with a high Bulwark.
1st pick:Ghoulem, as it is his best talent and the hero is extremly useful at higher levels. It makes the dmg of his procc more dangerous while boosting his insane HP pool even more.
2nd picks:Dead Drake and Vlad Dracula are second in line for Bulwark. DD has a few talents that aren't really better than BW, but come close, while the only other option for VD is Wargod (which is needed for a lot of other heroes), but Bulwark synergizes better with his healing skill (higher HP to possibly heal).
3rd picks:Grimfiend (Scatter and Revitalize are other valid options for him) is also very solid choice for it.
4th picks:Dracax, Pixie, Minotaur Chieftain, Spirit Mage and Santa Boom are solid choices for Bulwark, while Wargod is better on them.
other good choices: Basically everybody except Lady Leo. Deathknight and Beast Tamer are examples, where it will stay forever, as they are heroes who benifit from good HP pools and dmg as well.
Condemnation:
The hero needs to be attacked to let it proc and it also has a cooldown. This makes it the perfect talent for a dupe.
1st pick: Put it on a dupe for might boost.
Corrode:
This is a interesting one, as Corrode is per se useful on everybody, because it has no cooldown. The most use of it is a hero, that is focused and therefore should have high hp and damage reduction.
1st pick: If your high level Skullknight doesn't have a high Scatter or 5/5 Revitalize, then give it to this guy. A double evolved SK with it is feared in every PvP mode and can wipe out whole bases on his own. Note that it takes a high level SK (180e+) to really shine.
2nd picks: For LBF Deathknight is a good option for a Scatter team in the front row. He has high HP to make use of it and low priority on his better talents (Revitalize, Bulwark).
other good choices: All heroes with high HP or dmg reduction (Dead Drake, Beast Tamer, Orksbane, etc.) that are likely to be focused. However all of them have significantly better talents suited for them, so it will be replaced on them sooner or later.
Deadly Strike:
In theory this is an awesome talent for more damage against high HP pools. In practice, nearly every game mode with bosses that have insane amounts of HP has a dmg cap. It still has its situational use in Arena or lower HBM, but in nearly every useful situation, a crest set does its job already.
Do not put it on a sniper! The procs will destroy the buildings, and so additional auto attacks are wasted, that could yield more energy.
1st pick: DS has its niche in the archdemon fight. Normally Wargod and Bulwark would be better options, but since these two talents have such high demand, heroes like Snowzilla, Succubus and Siren won't get them unless they were born with them. It can also be put on a Ninja as it is basically his own skill again.
2nd picks: It is a great placeholder talent for Skullknight as he will pretty much oneshot everything, when DS proccs while his dmg proc is active. However there are a lot of better talents for him and it should simply be crested for the gamemodes, where it is of use.
other good choices: Put it on a dupe.
Enlighten:
This often underestimated talent is the best temporary talent in the game. It helps a lot with leveling since the sweep mode hit the game and it can be used to generate a ton of free EXP books when evolving.
1st pick: Your favorite heroes that haven't got a optimal talent yet. You will double evolve them anyway at some time, so put it there and push them at least to 200e.
2nd picks:Druid, as he costs no shards to evolve (because of the free cards every 30 days) and is very useful at higher levels as a healer until you get Ghoulem. And even then, he makes most of the ID teams. Another option is a hero of whom you already have 4 dupes. (If you want do devo him in the long run, 5000 fame are very expensive, so he should be of use after the sencond evolution!)
3rd picks: Other shard heroes that are cheap to evolve. My priority here would be Thunder God, as he is both cheap and useful in some game modes later in the game. He also has low priority for his optimal talents (Wargod, Bulwark).
other good choices: Basically every hero with a temporary talent.
Flameguard:
The main problem with Flameguard is, that its effect is deactivated under silence effects (can anyone confirm or deny this one). It also gets useful only if it is leveled up, which is rather expensive. So it is more or less a poorer version of Stoneskin.
1st pick: Placeholder talent for a tank, a focused PvP hero or Atlanticore.
other good choices: Put it on dupe.
Heaven's Wrath:
The talent procs when the hero is focused, which you normally do not want to happen. On top of that it has a cooldown, so it is useless in most cases.
1st pick: A temporary talent for a tank, that is likely to be focused in PvP, for example Dead Drake, Skullknight or Deathknight. It can have its uses in a LBF stun team for the focused hero.
other good choices: Put it on a dupe.
Heavy Blow:
Too expensive to level up, too much RNG to be considered helpful. HB was very good, when bosses could be stunned, but since every boss or demon since boss 4 has been immune to stuns, it is more or less a filler for heroes with fast attackspeed.
1st pick:Champion is the only option besides of dupes who will keep it, since he is all about stuns. Unfortunately this utility ends after boss 3, but it helps a little there.
other good choices: PvP heroes with fast attackspeed as Skullknight, Grimfiend or Phantom King for example can make use of it as temporary talent. Otherwise put it on a dupe.
Lifedrain:
Lifedrain shares the same fate as Revive: It is a very good talent, but its worth can be crested most of the times. It shines on heroes with fast attackspeed or high HP pools.
1st picks: If your Skullknight or Dead Drake haven't got their better talents yet put it on them. Especially on lower levels it helps a lot (actually it is their best talent, when not evolved yet) and makes the progress in many game modes much easier. It is the best talent for Orksbane, but because he isn't used in late game modes, it won't be worth levelling up past 6/8.
2nd picks:Grizzly Reaper since he has a fast attackspeed, the talent won't be replaced on him, because of his lower priority and he has his uses as a sniper. It makes a very good temporary talent on Phantom King (though is HP Pool is kind of low) or Grimfiend because of their fast attackspeed.
other good choices: Tanks like Deathknight, Ghoulem, Paladin
Revitalize:
The synergy between Revive and Revitalize should be noticed: When a hero revives, he has his build up energy from before his death and the revitalize energy. That means, a 5/5 revit hero will always revive with full energy.
This is the best PvP Talent and cheap as well, because it can't be leveled up.
1st pick:Aries takes the pole position. The only scenario would be a player with revit 5 crests, and even then they would probably go to someone else, since it is by far his best talent and a true game changer. Even if Aries has already a 4/5 revite, he should get the first 5/5. It is that good on him.
2nd picks:Valentina and Cupid come close second. They are all about support and the higher revit on them, the better. If you are one of the very lucky players to have Arctica, then you got another valid option where to put it.
3rd pick:Candy Kane, since without it she is more or less useless, and with it, she becomes a great PvP hero. Not so much a game changer as it is with Aries, but still very useful in LBF, FF and Arena. It depends on your team, if she hast higher priority than an WL, Tree or other heroes, but all other heroes have at least one other good talent for them, while CK has only Revitalize.
4th picks:Warlock (if he hasn't got WG), Destroyer, Skullknight (other options are Corrode and Scatter) and Treantaur (his best talent due to the auto proc) are all great choices and should normally preferred to Pumpkin Duke (Berserk is also great on him and there is no real competition to put it elsewhere) or Lady Leo.
other good choices: Everybody else, who doens't have it built in. Deathknight and Atlanticore come to mind, but they have alternatives and since Revitalize is probably the most used talent in the game, others should get it first. Ice Demon for slowdown teams is also worth mentioning for a lower revite (or if he was born with a 5/5 revit, do not change it!).
Revive:
The synergy between Revive and Revitalize should be noticed: When a hero revives, he has his build up energy from before his death and the revitalize energy. That means, a 5/5 revit hero will always revive with full energy.
Beside that, it is useful on everybody, but often not leveled up or replaced in the long run, because its main effect (the revive itself) can be crested.
If a hero with revive is silenced and takes damage that kills him, he will not revive. However he can be revived with Trees skill after he died.
1st pick:Atlanticore, since it is his best talent besides Revitalize, which he probably shouldn't get anytime.
2nd pick:Treantaur is also a valid option for it, since it plays to his strengths. Revitalize is better on him, since he proccs automatically at full energy, but there are others with higer proirity on Revitalize.
3rd pick: An interesting option is a 8/8 revive Dead Drake, but since it would cost 21k fame to make this little joke, it is more a thought experiment than an option. Another idea is to put it on a lvl 1 Cupid, Treantaur or Pumpkin Duke. Since their buffs are global, you can keep them at lvl 1 and level up their skill to use them in GW and expeditions as a buffer on buildings outside the tower range. Since everything will oneshot them, they can 'survive' an auto proc or a totem and keep on buffing with a revive. (Note that the revive level doesn't really matter here, but at level 1-20 they can't use crests, while it is important to keep them that low, so they will never destroy the building they are attacking.)
other good choices: Awesome temporary talent for every hero beside DK and SK, especially for auto-proccers in combination with revitalize or VD since most of the times he proccs instantly following his death, while healing himself full.
Scatter:
Very useful talent. It is worthless as 1/5 and 2/5, and pretty weak at 3/5 and 4/5, but it really shines at higher levels. That said, it will get very expensive to level up and to get Scatter teams for LBF or Bosses is going to take a long time. It is great on fast attack heroes and makes Bosses and Demons a lot easier. Also important in later HBM.
It is very important as a main talent, because the crests sets stop at level 5 (and realistically most players will already struggle to get one lvl4 set) while it reaches its strength at the higher levels.
1st pick: It should go to Moltanica, since it is her best talent and Moltanica is the best debuffer in the game.
2nd picks: A great choice for Scatter is Phantom King, as it synergizes perfectly with his talent and attack speed. Other than PK Skullknight (unless he has got an 5/5 corrode or Revitalize), Grimfiend (if he hasn't Bulwark or Revitalize on him) and Harpyqueen (awesome debuffer at higher levels, Moltanica is still better than her) are great picks.
other good choices: If you got none of the five heroes above, then give it to a Druid. He has a good attack speed, is a great addition in boss teams with his skill and ranged attack and he is the cheapest hero to evolve, because you get one card every 30 Days for free. If you roll a 4/8 Scatter, then put it on a Frost Witch, if she wasn't born with 5/8 Scatter or 5/8 Slowdown (in this case, put it on another Frost Witch, as you will need 6 green heroes for your towers anyway). You can also put it on Ghoulem for later HBM, but other talents are better suited for him overall.
Scorch:
On 5/8 the percentage to proc is pathetic. On higher levels it gets useful, but since it is very expensive to level and the RNG effect is not reliable, it is another useless talent.
1st pick: Put it on a dupe for might boost.
Self Destruct:
This is the worst talent in the game and even shouldn't be used as a temporary talent, because lower levels of other talents are better than a 5/8 SD.
Castle Clash New Talents
1st pick: Put it on a dupe or garrision hero for might boost.
Castle Clash Talent Guide 2018
Slowdown:
This talent has its uses in lower levels of HBM and in Bossfights. Most of the time it is crested and since it is to expensive to level up, it will stay at 5/8 probably forever. That being said, the slowdown strategy for bossfights seems to be the best one, since the world event boss is immune to Scatter.
1st pick: This would be either an Ice Demon or Snowzilla since both heroes are pretty much only used for slowdown fights. If they were born with a 5/5 revitalize, you shouldn't replace it of course, but otherwise they are great picks for it.
2nd picks:Druid (because you will have a lot of dupes of him, his attack is ranged and his buff makes a good addition to slowdown fights), Frostwitch (her skill slows as well and Scatter is her only better use) and Pixie (long range, only Wargod and Berserk are really useful on her) make also good additions to slowdown teams.
other good choices: Any other hero, who hasn't got his optimal talent yet and fits a slowdown team, because of his skill (HQ, WL, Santa, etc.) or utility (PD, Cupid, Val). It will be replaced on them on the long run however.
Sprint:
Most of the times you will put Sprint Crests on the heroes, who can use it. The only game mode, where Sprint can be a game changer is currently not very attractive (Arena), so it is more or less a temporary talent.
1st pick: For Arena Succubus as she is somehow useful there and nowhere else. Another option would be Immortep, if you use him to progress in lower levels of HBM and don't have VD.
other good choices: All PvP heroes who are waiting for their optimal talents can use Sprint. If your Aries is still waiting for his Revitalize, put it on him.
Stoneskin:
This is probably the only 'green' Talent worth leveling past 5/8. It is rather weak at 5/8 but gets really good on some heroes on at 8/8. Note to never put it on a SK, since it doesn't stack with his skill.
1st pick: It is the best defensive talent for Dead Drake, since it makes his damge reduction pretty much insane at 8/8. Other than the pirate, you could put it on Beast Tamer, as it helps his survivability and probably won't be replaced on him.
2nd picks: Stoneskin is a great temporary talent for Ghoulem, as it stacks with his shield buff. It will only be replaced by a Bulwark. Other than that, it is the best talent for Orksbane besides Lifedrain.
other good choices: Tanks and basically every hero except SK that is going to be attacked make good use of it as a temporary talent.
Tenacity:
Heroes with high HP Pool can make good use of this talent. However it will be replaced sooner or later on everybody, so you shouldn't level it up.
1st pick: A Paladin can use it as his lasting talent. Not because it is his best talent, but rather because he makes use of it and there is not really a competition for it.
other good choices: Heroes with high HP pools, such as Ghoulem, Dead Drake, Deathknight, etc. can make good use of it as a temporary talent.
Wargod:
This talent is basically good for everyone. However, it really shines on some heroes and should take priority in leveling up (to 7/8), as it allows you to progress in HBM and Dungeons a lot faster on the right heroes. Note that healing skills are not affected by WG! So while it boosts the damage of heroes like Druid, Ghoulem and Pixie, the healing stays the same. On lower levels it is an awesome temporary talent for everybody.
Wargod vs Bulwark: Most of the times, Bulwark is better. Wargod beats Bulwark in modes where the HP pool of the hero is more or less irrelevant and a dmg cap either doesn't exist (insane dungeons) or is very high (archdemon).
1st pick: Before you put it on anybode else, Minotaur Chieftain and Spirit Mage should take it. These two heroes are insanely good for later dungeons and it is by far their best talents. If MC already has a 5/5 Revitalize, then give it to SM and the next to MC. Otherwise MC should be first.
2nd picks: WG is the best talent for Santa Boom, since he is all about damage. It is also very good on Warlock (he becomes a monster in GW with it, if he has a 5/5 Revitalize put it on somebody else first), Pixie (she becomes a perfect sniper with it and the only other talents worth considering are Berserk or Bulwark on her) and Dracax (his AoE and DS proccs are devastating with it).
3rd picks: The list is long, but for all heroes there is at least one talent, that is better suited for them. Dead Drake (Bulwark), Harpyqueen (Scatter), Destroyer (Bulwark, Revitalize), Vlad Dracula (Bulwark), Lady Leo (Revitalize), Phantom King (Scatter, Berserk). However Wargod is also great on each one of them, so putting it on them is certainly not wrong.
other good choices:Thundergod, Immortep and Grizzly Reaper also benifit from a high Wargod, but since there are so many other heroes with higher priority, they often get passed by.
Title says it all.
I am currently debating between Minotaur and Santa for the 5/8 war god. Vlad already has 6/8 war god so he is ruled out. I also rolled a ghoulem with 4/8 tenacity which is not terrible.
I currently sweep HBM T and Insane 4-10. I would like to progress in both HBM and the new insane dungeons when they are released.
I have enough cards to double evolve Santa and would need to spend 60K shards to double evolve Minotaur. I do not see myself using Minotaur for HBM but definitely will be using him for the insane dungeons. Santa will most likely be used for both HBM and insane dungeons.
Here is a screenshot of both current heroes. http://imgur.com/a/xZBMQ
Any recommendations are welcome :)
