hi everyone.
i haven't played for a year or so, so i'm wondering if the newest patch allows me to play without having the cd in the drive. i know the latest blizzard (starcraft/etc) patches allow for this.
if not, is there any workaround? i rebuilt my pc and haven't reinstalled yet. if there's no way to play without the cd, i don't know whether i'll install or not.
thanks for any information you have.
chilly.

You put the ISO file on to a USB drive and run it and the computer will treat it like a disc in the CD drive. It's work for every one.no need cheats. 1 ) Unlimited Population ( you can check in the video thepopulation never increased.). Diablo iii eternal collection polish language pack 01001b300b9bf00e version. 2) Unlimited Army you can built. ( you can check. Re: how to play without cd well as long as you paid for your own copy and cd key etc. Im sure you can just use a cracked.exe I mean I cant see why you shouldnt be able to if you bought the game.

There is indeed a workaround. But you do need the original CDs and your CD key (though not after you are done with this)
First, install the game, with any expansion packs (this is not necessary but it saves you a bit of trouble). Now download MagicIso and MagicDisc. What these two programs do is they make a virtual ISO image of your discs, and then allow you to mount them onto a virtual CD drive, so you don't actually need to insert the game (don't worry, this is not illegal, because the terms of use allow you to make one backup copy of your discs, plus I remember one of the ES employees saying that he uses it). So now all you have to do, is take the disc you want to play, insert it into the drive, and make an ISO image with MagicISO. Place it somewhere easy to find like your desktop. Then use MagicDisc to mount that ISO image. And you are done! You can now take your actual disc out of your drive and play the game.
**NOTE: You don't have to buy the software to make it work

I made a backup of my CDs because they are extremely old (in the case of AoM) and I'd like to keep them for a long time. I wish MS would adopt some kind of online store like Steam.

Thanks for the replies. I do indeed have all the original discs for the different versions, so I'll look into making an ISO and mounting it virtually.
My dvd drive is letter D, so if I install from D:, but then in the future, mount the ISO from E: (or any other letter, since D: is already taken), do you think it will still work?
Or should I make the ISO first, mount it, and then install from that?
Thanks!

Yes it will work. Actually it doesn't matter in what order you do the steps, just that if you install from the ISO images there will be more work for you, since you also have to make images out of the 2nd and 3rd vanilla cds.

Dopple, im making a copy of my aoe3 vanilla right now.
If this works, Ill love you FOREVUR!
(I tried doing the same thing with PowerISO, but poweriso seems to suck)
EDIT: OH MAH GAWD I <3 YOU DOPPLE!
But the only thing i have a problem with is that the file isnt an iso, its a 'File'.
But MagicDisc and DaemonTools both work! ^_^

Well as long as it launches, it's fine. I've used Daemon tools to mount before, but it didn't work for my game for some reason. That's why I recommend MagicIso. I've never tried PowerIso before, but it's good too, as long as it works 100% of the time.
Also did I mention you could also make a copy of your TAD disc, mount that on another virtual drive, and run vanilla or TAD whenever you want even when your actual CD drive is empty?

You fool. Gatling Guns are way better. just build an army of minutemen in Scenario Editor and charge at a few gatling guns when their health goes to 0. Good sport that is.
