Starting the Server
To host a server just edit the startdedicated.bat file and the serverconfig.xml using TextPad or notepad++. You shouldn't need to edit the startdedicated.bat. In the batch file you will see the following text:
startdedicated.bat
Firewall Ports
You will need to open the following ports on your PC's firewall in order for people to be able to see and connect to your server.
TCP
- 8080-8081 (ONLY if you plan to administer your server remotely.)
- 8082 (If you are using Alloc's mods, this is for the web map.)
- 26900
UDP
- 26900-26902
Port Forwarding
If you are behind a router, you will need to tell your router that an incoming connection is meant for your server. This is called forwarding a port. You will need to port forward ports 26900-26902 so that others may join.
If router support UPnP - you can use this http://upnp-portmapper.sourceforge.net/
Don't know how to port forward? follow these instructions:
7 Days To Die Ps4 Custom Characters
- Go to this Site
- Select your router brand
- Select your router version (if your version is not there, pick the one closest to your version.)
- Select 7 Days to Die
- Follow the instructions on the site
If you have completed these steps correctly, your friends should now be able to join.
Finding your own External IP
To find the IP which your friends need to use go to this Site. There you will find your External IP. Send it to your friends and they should be able to join if you have already finished Port Forwarding (steps above) your router.
Looking for servers
If you are looking for a server to play on, you can find one on the current top servers list for 7 Days To Die here 7daystodie-servers.com or use the server browser on your game client.
- For computers on the same local network as the server you can connect to it by using its internal IP, simply enter this and the chosen port number into the two boxes at the bottom of the games server browser screen.
- If you are hosting the server on the same computer you intend to play from you can use 127.0.0.1 (localhost) as the connection IP.
- In all other cases you'll need to determine the servers IP address or domain name (if used) in order to make a connection. Windows users should open start, click run or search, type cmd. In the window that opens type ipconfig. You'll see a list of information. You're looking for IP address.
Example:Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:
Where mine says 192.168.1.100 that's the IP your server has.
Renting a server
There are several companies/websites that allow you to rent a server from them. This rented server will reside in a datacenter and hosted by them.
These servers are mostly 24/7 servers. This is useful because you won't need to keep your computer running 24/7. You can rent servers to many different specifications, some may not be powerful enough to host a server. Generally, network connections at a datacenter far exceed what is available to residential ISPs, which will cut down on latency that you might experience hosting at home.
You can use a Server Manager to setup and manage the server, such as the Cloud-based Server Manager (CBSM) for 7 Days to Die.

How To Make A Character In 7 Days To Die
The open world survivor horror video game “7 Days To Die” has a new update rolling out today in the form of 1.04 for the Xbox One and PS4. The update fixes lots of crashes from the previous 1.03 update like the disconnection issue and sound effects issues with rain and thunder, while introducing a lot more bugs. According to a user on Reddit, the Xbox One version of the game has a bug that hampers a player’s ability to see other players and interact with the surroundings. You can check out the full list of patch notes below.
Stability and Performance
- Fixed an issue that caused a much higher volume of disconnects from Online Multiplayer games.
- Fixed an issue that was preventing zombie corpses from turning into gore blocks as quickly as they are intended to which caused drastic perf slowdown during horde battles.
- Implemented a system to back up save files on PS4 so that, if a user’s save data becomes corrupted due to a crash during the saving process, they will lose very little progress. This fix will only work for any future saves that become corrupted; it will not be able to recover data for users who have run into save data corruption prior to Patch 3.
- Fixed a crash that would sometimes occur while using the crafting menu.
- Fixed a crash that would occur when a player would take a part of a minibike while another player was driving it.
- Fixed an issue that was causing more frequent crashes in local multiplayer games.
- Fixed a crash that would occur when the first player for a local multiplayer game would quit out as soon as the second player joined.
- Fixed an unresponsive state that would occur on XB1 if the player removed the controller, suspended the game, added the controller back, and attempted to remove it again while on the main menu.
- Fixed a crash on PS4 that would sometimes occur when dismissing a controller disconnect pop-up.
- Fixed a crash that would occasionally occur when accessing loot containers.
- Fixed a crash that would occur on PS4 while loading a map after setting the system’s language to Arabic or Turkish.
Art and Animation
- Fixed an issue where the lighting update in Patch 2 caused lighting inside buildings to be too dark.
- Fixed an issue introduced in Patch 2 that caused the Mining Helmet light to be too dark and have a dark ring obstructing the player’s view.
- Fixed an issue where the light on the Mining Helmet would constantly move and rotate back and forth.
- Fixed an issue where having motion-blur on while riding a minibike would cause the character model to shake violently.
- Fixed an issue where the texture on the terrain would occasionally fail to load.
- Fixed a number of miscellaneous issues with character models and animations.
Audio
- Fixed an issue where SFX for thunder would play at too high a volume.
- Fixed an issue where SFX for rain would play at too high a volume.
Gameplay
- Changed horde spawning slightly to ensure each of the players in a MP game will get attacked by a horde, no matter where they are in the world.
- Added an improvement so the player can hold “X” (on PS4) or “A” (on XB1) on the left arrow to increase the number of items to craft when crafting.
- Fixed an issue where hordes would vanish and fail to respawn if a player quit out of the game in the middle of a blood moon.
- Fixed an issue where doors to pre-existing buildings and POIs would respawn after having been destroyed by the player.
- Fixed an issue where it would briefly be snowing on world load, regardless of current biome.
- Fixed an issue where the minibike would occasionally stop on steep slopes.
- Fixed an issue where time would pass in the game while in the “Building Environment” portion of the world loading sequence.
- Fixed an issue where structures near a large lake in Navezgane would collapse on player contact.
- Fixed an issue on XB1 where cobwebs would spawn when a player would place a Minibike Chassis.
- Fixed an exploit where a player could duplicate wooden crates by building a diving-board-like structure and standing on top of a crate placed near the end of it.
- Fixed an issue where the menu cursor would not snap to search bars.
- Fixed an issue where the pipe bomb would fall to the player’s feet when thrown.
- Slightly increased the number of bird nests that spawn into the game.
- Added the version number to the main menu screen.
Fixed an issue where the layout of the D-Pad controls was inconsistent across items. The controls will now generally go as follows:
- DOWN: “Drop”
- RIGHT: “Favorite” and “Scrap”
- LEFT: “Recipe,” “Repair,” and “Use”
- UP: “Equip” and other, context-sensitive controls
